In the southwestern part of Sardinia is the Sulcis archipelago, with the two small islands of Sant'Antioco and San Pietro.
During our guided tour, which will depart from Cagliari, we will disembark by ferry in Carloforte, a small fishing village that is home to a community of Tabarkini, fishermen of Ligurian origin who moved to the Tunisian island of Tabarka in 1542.
In 1738 they obtained permission from Charles Emmanuel III to colonize the island, and thus Carloforte was born.
There we could stroll through its alleys and breathe in its past, discover the history of its community, linked for centuries to the activity of the salt pans and the tuna fishery, and taste, in our free time, one of the typical dishes, which blend the different origins of this peculiar community: the
Ligurian, the Tunisian and the Sardinian.
After the walking tour, there will be time for a scenic tour of the island, which will allow us to admire some of its most beautiful beaches, all the way to the Cape Sandalwood lighthouse, not far from the Lipu Nature Oasis, where Eleonora's falcon nests every summer.
